ABOUT

Duo Kämmi is a contemporary folk music ensemble consisting of two young Finnish musicians, Mirja Klippel (vocals, frame drum & acoustic keyboards) and Eeva-Leena Jauhiainen (tikkukantele & 15-string kantele / Finnish psaltry).

The Finnish word kämmi translates to something like "innocent mistake". Whether it is the freshly arranged Finno-Ugric folk songs or the duo's own compositions, improvisation always plays an important role in Duo Kämmi's music, leaving space for surprises and new inventions.

The group released their debut album Niittyhumala in summer 2010. To listen to the album, click here.

Duo Kämmi made a Germany tour with performance artist Sofia Breimo in summer 2011. Read more about the tour here.
